I realized I haven’t properly mentioned Ahren and Alaida’s ages in this book (though they were noted in the second one) Since one of the tropes here is “age-gap” I don’t want my readers to feel confused.

• Ahren is 27 years old.
• Alaida is 20 years old.

(In this book, both of their birthdays were mentioned if you have read carefully, so these are their current ages.) Their age-gap is 7 years.

Recently, I have seen a lot of reels/posts where people criticize this trope, so I want to make a few things clear.

Ahren married Alaida when she was 18, almost 19. In fact, Alaida herself said in chapter 1 that she would turn 19 after five days. Their marriage took place within two days - basically three days before her 19th birthday. At that time, Ahren had just turned 26.

So, no matter the circumstances, Ahren did not marry a minor. He wouldn’t even have married her while she was just about to turn 19, but he did it to protect her from Fahir, as explained in chapter 26 from Ahren’s POV.

Lastly, I really hope this won’t be a problem for anyone - or at least, I hope no one will bash me for using this age-gap trope. I wanted to make everything clear from my side as the author.

If anyone has any other confusion or issue with the book, please do tell me. I can’t change too much since the book is almost finished (just a few more chapters left unless I get more plot ideas to add) but I will do my best to clear up doubts where I can.
